9 yr. Old Actress Replaces Willow Smith In “Annie” Remake

Newcomer and actress Quvenzhane Wallis will replace Willow Smith in the upcoming remake of “Annie”. Earlier this month, it was announced Smith will no longer star in the role.

Although her father, Will Smith, commented on the news  adding that it was Willow’s idea to not continue on with the film, he also made it clear that when the movie announcement was made, three years ago, Willow had also been a 9 year old. She has simply outgrown the role.

Quvenzhane Wallis was catapulted to stardom following her impressive 2012 role in “Beast of the Southern Wild”. This year, she also became the youngest to be nominated for an Academy Award for leading actress.
