Image via WikipediaAccording to a joint statement issued by the couple’s attorneys, the divorce between golfer Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren was finalized Monday.
In the petition filed Monday, Nordegren cites the marriage as “irretrievably broken” as the reason for divorce.
Nine months following allegations of numerous affairs by Woods the couple have decide to end their union. In the joint statement the couple stated,
“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,” the statement said. “While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.”
The couple, who will have joint custody ask for privacy while they “adjust to a new family situation.”
