Atlanta rapper Young Vito, 28, (right) has been charged with the death of fellow artist Slim Dunkin, 24, (left). The man surrundered to police Monday afternoon after a plea from the late rappers mother to step forward.
Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, was shot and killed in an Atlanta studio on December 16th. Following the murder, detectives were left with many unanswered questions after witnesses were unable to identify the assailant.
Vito, (Vinson Hardimon), and his attorney, Derrick Wright, walked into the Atlanta police station yesterday afternoon to finally disclose the events surrounding Dunkin’s murder.
Detective David Quinn confirmed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the rapper’s attorney contacted the department and said, he [Vito] wished to turn himself in.
It was previously reported that the two men got into a headed argument over a piece of candy which resulted in the shooting and killing of Dunkin, but have yet to be confirmed.
Dunkin was laid to rest on Friday. In attendance were close friends and fellow rappers Waka Flocka Flame (Dunkin’s mentor) and Gucci Mane. The two rappers also covered the expense.
