Vanessa Williams has revealed in her latest book, “You Have No Idea”, that she had been sexually abused at 10-years-old and had an abortion during her teens.
During her interview with “Nightline” she says, “It happened one night where she told me, ‘come over here,’ I didn’t know that it was wrong, but I knew that it wasn’t right because I wasn’t supposed to tell anybody,” while explaining her encounter with an 18-year-old women during a family trip.
On the experience heightening her sexual curiosity she says, “I think I was highly sexualized because I was in fifth grade and I had this experience. Because it feels good, you’re like, OK, well this is supposed to be normal. That’s not normal for a 10-year-old to be seduced.”
Williams also spoke on having an abortion while in high school but kept it a secret from everyone, including her mother, because she had been scared.
On moving on and learning from past experiences she says, “I’ve learned to embrace my past. I embrace the choices that I have been given in my life.”
Wow! Very revealing and in dept. Williams actually conducted several recent interviews, on the topic, with her mother right by her side. That must have been unnerving for the both of them.
