Sad news in entertainment today. Actress and comedian Yvette Wilson has passed after a long battle with stage 4 cervical cancer. The star best known for her role as “Andell” on 90’s sitcom ‘Moesha’, died on Thursday confirms NewsOne.com. She was also featured on the ‘Moesha’ spinoff ‘The Parkers’ alongside Oscar winning actress Mo’Nique.

Wilson also suffered kidney failure as a result of her cancer diagnosis and was in need of donations toward her medical expenses. Unfortunately, help didn’t come soon enough. She was 48 years old.

Wilson caught her big break back in 1993 as a featured comedian on Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam and a role in the then television series ‘Thea’. She went on to garner featured roles in films such as ‘House Party 2’, ‘House Party 3’ and ‘Friday’.

May she rest in peace.

  1. DESIREE GRANT LOPEZ on

I AM SAD TO HEAR ABOUT YVETT I ALWAYS SAW HER AS A TALENTED VERY PRETTY WOMAN. WHAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND IS HOW CAN THESE STARS WITH ALL THAT MONEY LET A SISTER DOWN. THESE STARS HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY. IF I WAS IN POCKET I WOULD HAVE HELPED HER OR ANYBODY.

  2. Oh yes! This story was so tragic to hear. We also didn’t hear about her cancer diagnosis and financial struggle. And yes I agree if we knew we would have written a story and want to donate. I think that may have also been the problem amongst celebrities. Yvette and her ppl may not have garnered enough attention, celeb contacts etc. and sometimes a person’s pride may play a role. Perhaps didn’t want to extend her hand and feel needy. The truth is we don’t know the full story of why she didn’t get assistance so we won’t speculate. But very very very sad!
