Rumor has it, VH1 has pulled the plug on ‘Basketball Wives: LA’. But are we surprised? The show has declined drastically in ratings since the first season and viewers have noticeably grown weary of Gloria and Laura Govan — something onlookers expressed during the show’s season 2 reunion show.
Since it’s first season, the show has lost 1 million of the 2 million weekly viewers they received in the beginning. With the addition of Adiz “Bambi” Benton, Malaysia Pargo‘s best friend, and model Brooke Bailey the show was not able to sustain its ratings. Even Jackie Christie‘s train wreck and crazy antics couldn’t save it.
It was just last November that we reported some members of the cast could be getting the axe. Following the shows season 2 finale, producer Shaunie O’neal also hinted that there may be some shake up in the cast for necessary changes. However, it appears the network has decided to pull the plug on the show entirely.
Who we will miss? Draya Michele of course. The only cast mate who was able to spin her 15 minutes of fame into a successful bikini line (Mint Swin) and clothing line (Fine Ass Girls).
We should note however, amidst the rumors, the cast of season 3 is listed on its Wikipedia page as bringing on new comers Jocelyn Gulley, Lakisha Dungan and Jeniffer Wakili. Who weren’t listed among the cast? Gloria and Laura Govan — not to many’s surprise.
No official word has been made on whether the show has been cancelled but if it does return, we hope, the shake up and new cast members will revive it.
We’ll keep you posted.

Good. I don’t get these shows where they’re just the spouse of a famous person.
We can only hope and pray that such great entertainment is preserved.
Good because this show was so BLAH anyway.. even with the new chicks!
They should be canceled. The show wasn’t that interesting. I’m so glad that Gloria & Laura got the ax. They started to really work my nerves.
