Wednesday morning, Kelly Rowland shocked the music industry when she released new single “Dirty Laundry”. The very open and honest new single does exactly what she intended on doing — airing out her own dirty laundry. In the track the singer details her abusive past with an ex and her envy for former band mate Beyonce. Although Rowland wanted to be happy for the singer’s success at the time, she was battling her demons and withdrew from her family and friends.

Now, one of Rowland’s exes would like to clear his name for being suspected as her abuser. Although Rowland did not mention the name of her abusive ex boyfriend, the lyrics implied it was nearly 10 years ago. Back in 2004-2005 Rowland dated NFL player, Roy Williams. The couple were also briefly engaged. After getting word of the song and its implications Williams responded with this tweet, “So Kelly has a new song. Called #DirtyLaundry.. & what ever she’s saying in it ppl thinks it’s me. #wow #imnottheonlypersonshedated #wasntme”.

Do we believe him?

Prior to Williams the singer was rumored to be dating rapper Nelly in the early 2000’s. So just who was Kelly dating back in 2003? Hmmmm… interesting huh?
