In some very shocking turn of events, late Saturday night, George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the Trayvon Martin shooting trial.
Zimmerman was acquitted in a Florida court after jurors decided it was not proven without a reasonable doubt that he acted with intent of killing the then 17 year old Martin.
If you all remember, in February of 2012 the teen was gunned down by neighborhood watchman, Zimmerman, after being profiled as a suspicious male in his Florida neighborhood and pursued. He was then shot at the hand of Zimmerman following a physical confrontation.
Cnn reports, “George Zimmerman is not guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin, a Florida jury decided late Saturday.
The fact that Zimmerman fired the bullet that killed Martin was never in question, but the verdict means the six-person jury had reasonable doubt that the shooting amounted to a criminal act.
The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race and gun rights.
The six-person jury — all women — basically had three choices: to find Zimmerman guilty of second-degree murder; to find him guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter; or to find him not guilty.
The jurors deliberated for 16½ hours total, including 13 on Saturday alone, before delivering its verdict.”
At this time many celebrities and supporters of Trayvon Martin and his family are currently pouring out their disbelief and disapproval of the verdict.
There is also fear there will be mass rioting across the nation against the verdict.
We will keep you posted.
What are your thoughts with the verdict? CK readers do you agree or disagree with the juror?

Very heartbreaking!!! My heart goes out to the Martin family and I pray they don’t stop there!!!
I think we have to remember the verdict does not say that George was innocent. What it said was the prosecution did not prove their case. That is the American justice system. George should never have been holding that gun, if he did not have it Trayvon would be alive today. #sadness
So disturbing
I’m not really ready to speak on it. I should write about it, but I’m not ready.
What a depressing end to the day. His poor family. I’m speechless.
