Ebony Magazine Honors Trayvon Martin with Covers of Family, Celebs & Kids in Hoodies

As one of the most controversial trials of this year, everyone can remember where they were and how they felt with the non guilty verdict of George Zimmerman came in against the killing of Trayvon Martin. Since this verdict there have been several marches and even a boycott against Florida in an effort to change gun laws to prevent this from happening again. For September’s issue of Ebony Magazine, the magazine decided to honor Trayvon and his family by having four separate issues. Gracing the first cover is the Martin family. Trayvon’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon’s father, Tracy Martin, and Trayvon’s brother, Jahvaris Fulton. On the second cover is famed director Spike Lee and his son, Jackson. On the third cover is NBA star Dwyane Wade and his two son’s, Zaire and Zion. And on the fourth cover is actor Boris Kodjoe and his son, Nicholas. Adorned in the infamous hoodie attire, which is now becoming a trademark for Trayvon Martin, these celebrities are sending a powerful signal. This is something that will not be ignored and it reaches everyone no matter how rich or poor. Kudos to Ebony.
