British singer and pop star, Rita Ora, has landed her first movie role. Ora has landed the role of Christian Grey‘s sister, Mia, in the highly anticipated film adaptation of seductive novel “Fifty Shades of Grey”.
The singer confirmed the news, on Monday, tweeting, “It’s official! I’ve been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian’s sister Mia. #FiftyShades.”
It’s been a pretty long road in getting the film made. For much of the past year, several actors have dropped out of playing the lead character, Christian Grey. Perhaps, the role of the sexy hunk is a bit too intimidating.
Alas, in October 2013, actor Jamie Dornan was named as the male lead and actress Dakota Johnson will star as his love interest and female lead Anastasia Steele.
The film, which began filming this week, is expected to hit theaters in February 2015.
