Rapper, The Game, has recently organized the Cease Fire campaign, asking to save our kids from street violence. Along with his Robin Hood Project foundation, the rapper is asking to assist the families of slained victims.

The campaign was inspired by the unfortunate loss of six children in the month of December alone. With only six days into the month, that means, a child has died at the hands of gun violence every day since the month has started.

The campaign was inspired by the unfortunate death of a 7 year old Los Angeles boy, Taalib Pecantte.

Upon hearing of the boy’s death Game shared an image of the little boy along with this message, “ATTENTION: Meet 7 year old Taalib Pecantte, who died last night in the hospital due to a gunshot wound in the back from a shooting of him & his mother in Los Angeles. This child was an honor roll student & had just left target from getting laundry detergent with his mother Berlin Mock who was also shot after their arrival on a Corning Ave in Los Angeles around 9pm. I don’t know what it’s like to lose a child but I’m pretty sure it’s the worst feeling ever imaginable !!! & to think…. Christmas is just 3 weeks away & this young child will never get to open a gift again due to the fact that his life was cut short over a cowardly act of violence. I heard about the story from a family friend & acted immediately in contacting friends around the city & on behalf of #TheRobinHoodProject Me, @KevinHart4Real @Jaccpot10 & @Rodney_Taylor68 making the BIGGEST donations to help with funeral costs alongside a long list of gang leaders & people making $100 + donations…”

After listing several names of people who’ve already made donations, he then added, “Follow @therobinhoodproject for future stories & info on how you can help impact these tragedies. An angel taken to soon…. 3/15/06 – 12/3/13 R.I.P. Taalib. If u want 2 Donate for Family Relief & Support #TeamTaalib, Contact Taalib’s uncle @boi_josh at 310-760-1929 #CeaseFireLA #TheRobinHoodProject “NO CHILD DESERVES THIS, ESPECIALLY 3 WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS” !!!!!! What the fuck is wrong with US out here ?!?!?!? SMFH”

Not long after, the rapper followed up with his efforts to bring more awareness about Taalib’s, and children like him that have died in the last week.

Again he shared this message, “In the wake of 7 year old Taalib Pecantte’s murder along with 6 year old Tiana Ricks & all the other children slain this year due to gang violence in my city & On behalf of @therobinhoodproject we are asking all gangs to “CEASE FIRE IN LOS ANGELES” throughout the Christmas holiday season to ensure no more senseless child murders occur & families can enjoy their holiday season in peace. We will try & continue this movement moving into the New Year but for now let’s all pass this photo & message along so that no one else is killed this year in our city…. If we start it here at home, the world will catch on. Please re-post this photo & tag #CeaseFireLA & #TheRobinHoodProject WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE TO ASSIST IN PRESERVING OUR CHILDRENS FUTURE. Take action NOW !!!!!!!! These kids deserve to be cared about….. & since it starts with me………. #CeaseFireLA”

Although the rapper is a Los Angeles, CA native, he and a number of his celebrity friends have been spreading the word to other cities, including, Memphis, New York, Atlanta, Houston, and Philadelphia, just to name a few.

We salute The Game and his Robin Hood Project foundation in his efforts to stop the violence, do you?

Good for him, babies shouldn’t die caught up in this battle over nothing but street signs.
