Evan Ross Talks Knowing Ashlee Simpson Was “The One”

Evan Ross is more than ready to walk down the aisle with fiancee Ashlee Simpson.

The actor, and son of the famous Diana Ross, recently sat down with E News! to promote his independent film, “The Wilderness of James” at SXSW.

Of his pending I do’s he stated, “Honestly, we could go and get married right now, wherever.”

“We just want to be married. We’re in love. This is the most incredible time I could ever think of in my life and I’m young, but the same time, I’ve lived a different life than most and I can’t think of a happier moment.”

Ross, whose also been picked to play Messalla in the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay parts 1 and 2, says he knew he wanted to marry Simpson “really quickly.”

“I was giving it time only because I wanted to give it time, but I would have asked her a month after I was with her,” he said.

Ross proposed to Simpson back in January after only six months of dating (See HERE).

Although Simpson already has a son, Bronx, with ex-husband and rocker Peter Wentz, of wanting children Ross adds, “It’s up to Ashlee, but I want to have a lot of kids. I grew up with…10 siblings.”

Ross (born Evan Olav Næss) has a fraternal twin brother, whose first name is also Ross, and is half-brother to actress Tracee Ellis Ross. He also has two other maternal half-sisters, three paternal half-brothers and three paternal half-sisters.

A large family indeed.

Simpson is the youngest of only two children, but, you may remember her more famous sibling and singer, Jessica Simpson.

Of their wedding day, the couple already has a wedding date picked out but wants to keep it private. “My mom is helping plan my wedding right now,” Ross said.

“She’s involved in all levels of my life. She’s one of the most incredible mothers ever. My mom is 69 and she’s going on tour again. She was on tour last year and even going tour, she’s involved in every piece of our wedding [and] engagement party.”
