Nene Leakes Becomes Highest Paid Housewife! Gets $1.5 Million

Nene Leakes is here to stay! She has just become the highest paid housewife of the franchise, receiving $1.5 million during season 7 of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’

Every Sunday, when the popular Bravo reality series is on, eyes are glued and mouths are closed to see all the drama that will unfold. Between the casts and their ongoing spectacles, RHOA delivers the goods and hasn’t let its audience down, at least not yet. Although other series have had great seasons, including the Real Housewives of New Jersey, Beverly Hills and New York, the Atlanta spin-off has done tremendously well — being the highest rated among the franchises.

Although the show has seen a number of shake ups amongst the cast, Nene Leakes remains the only original cast member since the show’s premiere in 2008. With all the drama last season between Leakes and her ex best friends Marlo Hampton and Cynthia Bailey, Porsha’s infamous mug shot after attacking Kenya, Kenya Moore’s love triangle, or lack there of, with Phaedra Park’s husband Apollo, among other things, the show’s ratings shot through the roof.

According to some recent stats, RHOA has brought in millions of viewers for the Bravo network. Some would say this is somewhat attributed to Leakes’ over the top, loud mouth, and sometimes brash antics. Despite rumors she’d be leaving the show, letting her go would not have been a smart move for the network. Leakes has also expressed her thoughts on potentially leaving the series. In fact, she told VH1’s The Gossip Table a few months back, “I don’t know if I’m happy to be a full-time Housewife. I will still work for Bravo. We just need to work out some things.”

We’re guessing the $1.5 million payout this season was all the compromise she needed.
