Throwback: R&B Group ‘702’

1

It’s been 9 years since we last received an album from this 90’s beloved group but I can’t deny 702 did have some great tunes we all use to jam to.

The group, discovered by comedian Sinbad and mentored by fellow musician turned music exec Michael Bivins, was originally a quartet comprised of sisters Irish, Orish, LeMisha ‘Misha’ Grinstead, and lead singer Kameelah ‘Meelah’ Williams. Irish’s twin sister Orish Grinstead, who died in 2008 of kidney failure, was a later dropped out the group before the release of their first album for personal reasons. She later became a substitute member for sister LeMisha while she took time off to raise her son.

The group garnered success with hits like “Steelo”, “Get It Together”, and “Where My Girls At”. Why don’t we take a look back.

Brings back so many memories. Unfortunately doesn’t look like this group will ever regroup. Lead singer Kameelah has gone on to greener pastures to become a solo career.
