VH1-Singles-Ladies-Cancelled

VH1 has cancelled its original series, “Single Ladies,” after three seasons. On Friday (February 28, 2014) the network made the official announcement.

“We’ve been proud to deliver three seasons of the drama, romance and style that engaged viewers in each episode of Single Ladies,” VH1 said in a statement. “Although we’ve decided not to move forward with another season, we hope to work again with the talented cast, creatives and producers as well as our partners at Flavor Unit Entertainment in the near future. We also thank the show’s fans for their support since the premiere in 2011.”

Set in Atlanta, Singles Ladies is centered around three best-friends, Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy), Raquel (Denise Vasi) and April (Charity Shea), with different philosophies on love, sex and relationships, proving that not all women have the same desires.

Stacey Dash (the original Raquel) was replaced by Vasi following her departure from the show during season 2.

Hmmmm… did anyone not see this coming?! With sub-par acting, I’m more surprised the network hadn’t cancelled the series earlier.

During the season, the show averaged 2.2 million total viewers—similar to that of season 2.

CK readers are you surprised by the cancellation?
