Congratulations to ‘Are We There Yet’ actress Essence Atkins, 39. The actress and husband, Jamie Mendez, welcomed a baby boy over the Christmas holiday. In fact, the baby boy, named Varro, meaning “durable and strong”, was born on Christmas day!
She took to Twitter to write. “Found it… our 1st baby, a beautiful healthy boy, was born on Christmas Day! #Blessing,” she tweeted.
Back in October, the actress, revealed to Essence Mag the reason she waited to have kids. She said, “All of our friends are like, ‘You guys are just getting started while our [kids] are off to college,’ but it’s like I lived my life, I’ve taken trips to Paris for just 30 hours and came back, I’ve popped bottles, I’ve done it all, now I’m just ready and looking forward to being a mom.”
The couple, who met on online dating site Match.com in 2007, was married in since September2008.
