‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Taylor Armstrong‘s, 40, estranged husband, Russell Armstrong, 47, was found dead Monday from an apparent suicide. The 47 year old business man’s body was found hanging at a friend’s LA home.
Reports have surfaced, which suggests, Armstrong was under extreme pressure following the demise of his marriage a month earlier, accusations of mental and physical abuse, and a pending $1.5 million lawsuit all while his life was played out in the public eye.
“It got really overwhelming,” Russell told PEOPLE in an interview just weeks before his death. “When you get a TV show involved and all the pressure, it just takes it to a whole new level. … We were pushed to extremes.”
Unfortunately though while Armstrong still hasn’t been laid to rest , his family make plans to sue Bravo. The family believes the network push Russel to his breaking point, both emotionally and mentally. Armstrong’s step-brother Wade Jackson had this to say about the preceding,
“Bravo is at fault and somebody needs to pay. Russell’s whole family was very close and they’re considering suing Bravo. Russell’s dad doesn’t want to talk about what happened to him with a lot of people, but everyone in the family thinks that Bravo is to blame. I’m sure somebody will sue them. In his line of business he didn’t want to be a public person on the show, but Taylor pushed him into it. He was really upset about the whole thing and told everyone in the family that he didn’t want to be on the show. He was a smart guy. The whole family is sad about his death and they want answers.”
As for the fate of the show, set for a Sept. 5th premiere, the network is working diligently to come up with a solution. Armstrong would have been featured on several episodes before is sudden demise.
Bravo did release this statement however, “All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” a Bravo spokesperson said. “Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time.”
Bravo correspondent, Andy Cohen, also wrote via his blog, “We’re all still trying to process yesterday’s very sad news, and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production and was set to premiere on Labor Day. We’ll let you know what we decide when we do. In the meantime, we’re sending our thoughts and prayers to Taylor and the rest of Russell’s family.”
Our condolences go out to the Armstrong family. Sad indeed.
