Singer Alicia Keys hosted her 11th annual Keep A Child Alive Black Ball Gala last night at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The foundation and its co-founder pulled together a lovely philanthropic event filled with instrumental figures in the art, music and fashion world.
Keys, who is with child, looked glowingly stunning alongside husband Swizz Beatz. She wore a custom black Givenchy gown designed by Riccardo Tisci, the event’s honoree.
Keys began The Keep A Child Alive Foundation in 2003 to provide financial and medical support to children and their families affected by HIV. Last year the celebrity charity event raised an impressive $4 million to aid its efforts.
Thursday night Queens’ legend Nas performed “NY State of Mind” while rock and roller David Byrne shared the stage with Keys. The live tweet event attendees included Kanye West, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Estelle, Clive Davis, Russell Simmons and Diddy.
Givenchy’s Creative Director Riccardo Tisci was awarded for his own non-profit organization, which provides anti-discriminatory treatment and support to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
Sweethearts, check out some photos of some of the attendees and festivities below!
