‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ judge and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ choreographer Shane Sparks was sentenced Tuesday, nearly two years, following his arrest for having sex with a minor under the age of 16.
He must serve 270 days behind bars and 5 years probation. He will also go through extensive hours of counseling and must stay away from underage girls unless an adult is present.
Sparks initially disputed accusations of having sex with an underage girl but pleaded no contest Tuesday after eight other charges were dropped.
Sparks’ attorney Steve Meister stated at the time that the case “stinks to high heaven” since Sparks’ accuser waited 15 years to come forward. He called the claims “extortion, Hollywood-style.” The incident, reportedly, occurred in the early to mid 1990’s and Sparks is said to have been at least 10 years older at the time.
Harsh reality for someone whose career was on such a high note.
