Apollo Nida, husband to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Phaedra Parks, has just gotten eight years for his involvement in bank and identity fraud.
The irony here is that eight years is actually a pretty good sentence considering Nida was facing up to 30 years in a federal prison.
Back in January, we reported that Apollo had beenarrested and facing conviction for bank and identity fraud. By May, the reality star appeared, again, in a Georgia courtroom to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and identity theft.
A few days ago, Nida pleaded with the judge, in the case, for leniency on his sentencing. Apparently the judge obliged, but still not enough to avoid spending the next eight years in a federal penitentiary.
At the sentencing today, the judge said that Nida did cooperate with federal investigators by spilling criminal secrets … and that’s why he got leniency.
Nida is said to have cashed and laundered approximately $2.3 million dollars.
Nida and Parks have two young sons together. He previously spent five years behind bars for crimes also related to fraud.
We wish him and his family the very best under the circumstances.
