Despite reports that singer and legend Aretha Franklin, 68, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year there have been no confirmation either by Franklin or her publicist.
In fact, her cousin Brenda Corbett tells the Detroit Free Press that Aretha “has a long life in front of her and will be back in concert, on stage, late spring or early summer.”
The singer, who announced last week she had undergone a surgical procedure but did not give much detail on what kind of procedure, cancelled all tours and appearances through May 2011 under doctor’s orders when she fell and broke her ribs in the shower last month.
Life long friend The Reverend Jesse Jackson, was quoted as saying, Wednesday, in an interview with The Associated Press “she has amazing strength — body, religion and faith. It’s what keeps her going.”
We will keep you in our prayers Aretha. May you have a speedy recovery.
