While promoting her new Christmas album on Hot 97’s Morning Show, Ashanti opened up about her past relationship with Nelly. The singer, whose been working on several projects including a collaboration with Target, discussed Nelly’s constant beef with his new flame’s exes.
“What can I say? Why are the boyfriends mad? Me personally, I go after the person that’s supposed to be loyal to me,” she replied. “Guys may handle things differently. I don’t know…what all those situations are. It’s hard because I see through a lot of different situations. I don’t think a lot of things are being taken seriously,” she continued while also insinuating that Nelly’s new relationship with Floyd Mayweather‘s ex, Shantel Jackson, isn’t exactly a relationship.
The songstress went on to admit that Nelly’s sex game is “great” and they have been intimate in the past 12 months. As for the breakup:
“If people were to know the truth, the truth is more bizarre than the perception. The truth of me and him is way more bizarre than what the perception is. If you knew what was really going down, you would be like…WHAT!?”
