Ashton & Demi Calls It Quits

Demi Moore has officially filed for a divorce from husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher. Amidst infidelity rumors claiming Kutcher had had a number of affairs, the couple are now going their separate ways. Moore released an official statement on behalf of her publicist saying,

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

Not long after Demi’s statement was released Kutcher a statement of his own via twitter adding,

“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK.”

Although there had been a number of cheating allegations, it wasn’t until this past September when Kutcher’s alleged mistress, Sarah Leal came forward admitting to being intimate with the actor. It was pretty much doomed from then on. The couple haven’t been spotted together in months and have, reportedly, tried to save their marriage with an attempt at couple’s counseling and spiritual guidance. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough. This mark’s Demi’s third marriage and Ashton’s first.

However unfortunate, I am not at all surprise. The 16 year age difference, I’ve found, would have come back to bite them where it hurts. She has three children and he has none. Unless Ashton has no interest in being a father that’s already a major problem. I truly wish these two the best, but in Hollywood-land this is just another day in the neigh/borhood. Blessings.
