This has to be one of the more disturbing stories to date. An Atlanta couple are willing to forgive their two sons despite the boys’ attempt to murder them.
Yvonee and Zachery Ervin, still visibly recovering from injuries sustained after being beaten and stabbed, spoke with WSB-TV after a visit with sons Cameron, 17, and Christopher, 22, at Gwinnett County jail recently.
The couple told the news station:
Those were not our boys that did that to us. We did not raise them that way.
We forgive our sons, we love them unconditionally. We have to make sure that they understand that to strengthen themselves.
While discussing the consequences of their actions and the desire to forgive their sons, the couple also expressed their hopes that the world will forgive them too.
“We understand there are consequences for what they did,” Mrs Ervin told the news outlet.
“They understand that, but we’re just praying the world forgives them in the same way we forgive them,” she adds.
It’s suspected that the brothers’ attempt to kill their parents was solely to recoup a payout from their insurance policy.
What’s even more disturbing? One of the brothers even told police that he plotted to kill his mother since he was 11 years old.
They face two felony counts of aggravated assault in addition to arson charges for trying to burn their home and conceal the murders.
Watch what else the parents had to say below:
So sad!
