For the past week, there’s been much speculation as to what took place after a video of Solange Knowles attacking brother-in-law and rapper Jay Z in an elevator while leaving the 2014 Met Gala after party in NYC, last week, was leaked to the press.
Amidst all the speculation, all parties involved, Beyonce (who was present but not involved in the fight), Solange and Jay have remained silent. In fact, Jay and his wife were spotted court side the Heat vs. the Nets basketball game at Barclays Center, the same day the video leaked.
Now, the Carter-Knowles clan are breaking their silence and have released an official statement on the matter. Here’s what the trio had to say:
As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.
The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.
Guess we’ll never know what actually happened huh?
As they say, family is family and we’re glad Solange and Jay were able to work out their differences.
