Blackish-Premieres-High-Ratings

We’re weren’t sure how well this sitcom would be received but ‘Black-ish’ is a hit guys!

The ABC comedy, starring actors Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis-Ross and Laurence Fishburne raked in 10.8 million viewers upon its Wednesday night premiere.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,

ABC has tried to partner with Modern Family by premiering in the coveted 9:30 p.m. slot. Did it work? It certainly looks that way. The first episode of Black-ish drew a 3.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 10.8 million viewers in live-plus-same day figures — retaining most of its Modern Family lead-in. That certainly bests all recent attempts at comedy in that time slot.

We were very skeptical of the show, given the name and the stereotypical “antics” we expected to be depicted on what it means to be “blackish” but, perhaps, it is worth watching.

CK readers, have you checked out the show and if so, what are your thoughts?
