Over the weekend, it was with great sadness that we reported that Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Atlanta home.
Although reports would soon follow that Brown was resuscitated after being rushed to a local hospital Saturday morning, news of her recovery is grim at the moment.
We’ve now learned that Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically induced coma to eliminate swelling from her brain. It’s also being reported that the troubled 21 year old, has been placed on a ventilator to assist with her breathing. There’s a chance, however, that Brown may be brain dead.
In some more troubling reports, Brown’s estranged husband, Nick Gordan, has reportedly been banned from seeing his wife at the request of the Houston family.
According to Sandrarose.com, “There are unconfirmed reports that Brown and Gordon fought last week and Gordon moved out of the home to stay with a friend. Brown reportedly called Gordon from the bathroom to say she was going to take her life.
Hiphopenquirer.com reports exclusively that Brown’s family (Pat Houston) took out a restraining order preventing Gordon from seeing Brown at North Fulton hospital where Brown is in the intensive care unit.”
Twenty-four hours after finding out about his daughter’s ordeal. Brown’s dad and singer, Bobby Brown, released an official statement expressing his sentiments and requesting privacy during this very difficult time.
“Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time,” said Bobby in his statement.
Brown’s lawyer, Christopher Brown, also released this statement, adding, “The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to the hospital in Atlanta, Georgia is accurate. No additional information will be forthcoming.”
Some more recent reports suggest that the Brown and Houston family may be faced with the difficult decision of taking Bobby Kristina off life support and prepare for funeral arrangements.
Although drugs was initially suspected as the culprit for the tragic turn of events, we’ve also learned that Bobby Kristina may have attempted suicide nearly three years after the passing of her mother.
Whitney Houston passed away on February 11, 2012. Her death was ruled as an accidental drowning when Houston was also found submerged in the bathtub of her Los Angeles hotel room. A toxicology report also revealed that drugs was in Houston’s system at the time of her death.
We send our prayers to the Brown and Houston family at this time.
