We were all stunned by the announcement that Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away over the weekend after failing to awaken from her comatose state since being found unconscious in the bathtub of her Atlanta home on January 31st.
For the first time, her dad and singer Bobby Brown is speaking out about her demise and his sudden grief.
“Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time,” the singer, 46, said in a statement released by his lawyer Monday. “My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable.”
He adds, “We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”
Bobbi Kristina, just 22, passed away in an Atlanta hospice On Sunday, July 26.
It was the hospice she’d been released to back in June. Brown was found unresponsive in her bathtub. Never fully regaining consciousness she was placed in a medically induced coma and subsequently on life support.
“Yesterday Bobbi Kristina Brown took her place in heaven,” Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, legal counsel for Bobby Brown, said in a statement. “Krissy fought to get well for months, however she has [succumbed] to her injuries.”
The Houston family also released an officially statement, both announcing and confirming Bobbi Kris’ death on Sunday.
“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family,” the statement reads. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Brown’s death comes nearly three years after her mom and singer Whitney Houston’s own tragic death. Houston was also found unconscious in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel after overdosing on drugs.
