Boston_Bombing_SuspectsFollowing Monday’s Boston marathon bombing, the city has been grief stricken and engulfed in a manhunt for the suspects responsible for the horrific act.

By Wednesday afternoon, it was discovered that there were two men suspected to have caused the bombing from video surveillance footage in the surrounding area. It wasn’t until Thursday that we learned of their names, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19.

Thursday night the two men were then cornered in Watertown, Massachusetts following reports they robbed a 7-Eleven and carjacked a citizen in a neighboring town, Cambridge, Massachusetts. After contacting police, the carjack victim, a man, informed officials he believed the two men were, in fact, responsible for the bombing.

It was later discovered that the two men are also responsible for the death of a Boston City MIT Police Officer, Sean Collier, that same night.

Once located, the two suspects were then engaged in a violent shoot out with Boston police that left Tamerlan Tsarnaev dead and his 19 year old brother, Dzhokhar, on the run.

Friday morning, it was then announced that the city of Boston had been under a mandated shutdown in pursuant of the nineteen year old. Nearly 24 hours later, as the city’s mayor, Thomas Menino, announced the mandatory shutdown was over, a city resident contacted officials informing them that a man had been hiding in the back of his home in a boat and appeared to be injured.

As officials rushed to the scene and media outlets remain on alert, three hours later, it was finally announced that Dzhokhar Rsarnaev had been captured.

Upon his capture the Boston City Police Department tweeted, “Suspect in custody. Officers sweeping the area. Stand by for further info.

Nearly ten minutes later they followed up with, “CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody.”

And then, “In our time of rejoicing, let us not forget the families of Martin Richard, Lingzi Lu, Krystle Campbell and Officer Sean Collier.”

Boston Mayor, Tom Menino, also tweeted, “We got him.”

Upon his capture, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, initially exchanged gun fire with police before being taken into custody.

He has been listed in serious condition following injuries believed to be ensued during the Thursday night shoot out with police. He was also covered in blood, says officials.

There are efforts currently being made to keep him alive, in hopes, he’ll shed light on why he and his brother committed the crime and information on terrorist organizations. It’s likely he’ll be taken to a hospital for treatment before questioning.
