After only seven months of dating, Cameron Diaz, 42, and Benji Madden, 35, are engaged!
The couple’s engagement has been confirmed by multiple sources, according to Us Weekly.
“Everyone thinks it’s wild but are so happy for them,” one source told Us. “Benji always tends to fall in love easily, but this time it’s for real and he landed a great girl. They obviously both make each other incredibly happy and there’s nothing better than that.”
“He is more traditional then her,” a pal to the couple added. “She really doesn’t care about getting married but wants babies. He wants to get engaged and married first.”
It was actually Nicole Richie, wife to Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden, who set the pair up.
During an interview on Andy Cohen‘s Watch What Happens Live back in July Richie stated, “I approve of anything that’s going to make Benji happy.”
On whether it was she who set the duo up she adds, “Yes. I’m going to take responsibility for everything!”
And, the actress’ mom, Billie Joann, has even spoken out publicly in favor of her daughter’s relationship.
“Billie has been gushing about Cameron’s new relationship,” a source again told Us. “She absolutely loves Benji and she hopes this is the man her daughter will finally settle down with.”
Although Madden’s kept most of his dating life private, the actress has previously dated Justin Timberlake and Alex Rodriguez.
