Former First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton, and husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are expecting their first child together! While speaking at a women’s empowerment event for the Clinton Foundation in New York City on Thursday (April 17, 2014), Clinton made the official announcement.
“Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year,” she aid. “I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders.”
“I just hope I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me,” Clinton adds.
Following her public announcement, Chelsea and the proud grandparents-to-be, former President Bill Clinton and Senator and wife Hillary Clinton, all expressed their excitement on Twitter.
They tweeted the following messages:
Chelsea, who now serves as Vice President of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, exchanged vows with Mezvinsky back in 2010.

She is barely in the spotlight. So I don’t get why this was such big news. To me, it’s on par with the Bush girls getting pregnant.
I’ve been watching too much Scandal, and obviously I’m thinking like Olivia Pope, but this will make a good headline for the Clintons while they campaign. Grandma in Chief.
