Chris Brown‘s future looked bleak when it was announced, on Thursday, that the singer’s probation, stemming from his 2009 assault on Rihanna, had been revoked.
Initial reports suggested the singer was, again, facing some jail time. The reason? Brown was present at San Jose’s Fiesta night club, last weekend, when five club attendees were shot and injured during a shoot out at the night club (read here). Questions arose whether Brown had used the best judgement to remain in the city after the tragic turn of events and may have even partied the night after. There were also questions pertaining to whether the singer had permission to travel in the first place.
Following the reports, the singer also sent out a tweet to his 14 million Twitter followers. He wrote, “Nothing can stop what God has planned. Surround yourself with elevators! It’s almost over… Keeping pushing forward and don’t break!”
The speculation can now be put to rest. A member of Brown’s management team answered the burning questions with the following tweet below, late Thursday night.
It’s no secret, Brown has had some runs ins with the law for much of the last couple of years stemming from the same assault case and a Washington D.C. case that would follow back in late 2013.
He’s not only spent time behind bars for a previous probation violation but has spent some time in rehab to address his anger management and self medication.
It was announced last year that the singer was diagnosed with suffering from a bipolar disorder, insomnia and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
His mother, Joyce Hawkins, and on-again and longtime girlfriend Karrueche Tran were also said to have been present at the singer’s hearing for support.
The singer’s probation from the 2009 case was schedule to expire in two weeks. If the Los Angeles district attorney and probations offices fail to prove why the singer should remain on probation, it’s very likely the judge will have no choice but to release him of any further legal obligations.
