Chris Brown headed over to the ‘Today Show’, Monday morning, for a sit down interview with Matt Lauer. Chris talks about his new CD, “X,” his 52 weeks of therapy, and the new him. Lauer asks Chris hard questions about his 2009 felony assault charges against singer Rihanna and specifically asks, “How has he changed?”

Chris answers, “I’ve been humbled by the whole experience, from me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is–but most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath, and being able to apologize to, you know, Rihanna and be that man that can be who is a man, you know?”

Chris also says that the couple are still together and are just fine. “As far as me and (Rihanna) are concerned, she knows my heart and I know her heart. So I’m not really focused on the negative.”

In regards to his new album, Chris talks about having a “Quincy Jones” approach to it where he had a mini music camp filled with producers, musicians, and writers. Ending the interview, Chris says, “For me, it’s about proving myself to my fans. The only thing I can do is please my family, myself, and please her, you know, and my fans.” The interview was a good one, but I wish there would have been more focus on the actual album. Even though this is the first time Chris is actually opening up about the incident, let’s not focus on it. “X” is slated to come out in August.

I am new to blogging...but let me tell you I have been writing since I was 5 years old. My mom still has the mini books that I made in Kindergarten. As a single mother of two boys and a full blown Gemini, my outlook on life has many ups and downs. Nothing frees me more than writing. My biggest prayer is that my words help someone who is going through rough times and makes them smile...or at least laugh a little.
