Ok, so I am a little late to this, but I just had to post this just because of the media buzz surrounding Colin Powell’s endorsement of Senator Barack Obama.
On Sunday’s Meet the Press, former Secretary of State Colin Powell announced that he will be voting for Senator Obama next month.
In fact he stated “I think he is a transformational figure, he is a new generation coming onto the world stage, onto the American stage, and for that reason I’ll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama.”
After hearing about the endorsement, I thought to myself what is the big deal? So, ok I know that this is Colin Powell but I didn’t quite understand the excitement until someone told me that Colin Powell is Republican! His endorsement for Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama is surprising! If the former Secretary of State who is Republican isn’t sticking to his own party what does that mean for the rest of us! That speaks volumes, Pay attention people! What does that conclude, VOTE DEMOCRATIC!(I’m being bias, I know:)
