The cause of death for ‘Glee’ actor Cory Monteith has been confirmed by the Coroner’s Office in British Columbia. Sadly, it’s what we all feared. The office announced on Tuesday that the actor died from the lethal mixing of heroin and alcohol.
Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room in British Columbia, over the weekend, when he failed to check out of his hotel suite. His body was then discovered by hotel staff who went looking for him.
Monteith had been open about his drug addiction earlier this year and even checked himself into rehab —his second time entering a substance abuse program. His first occurred when he was 19 after a family intervention.
Monteith was only 31 years old. May he rest in peace.
