‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Dad, Conrad Bain, 89, Dies

Sad news today! Conrad Bain, 89, the dad who played Phillip Drummond on 80’s sitcom ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ has died.

The actor played a successful businessman who adopted two African American brothers, played by the late Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges (seen in above photo).

His daughter, Jennifer Bain, confirmed his death to PEOPLE and says her father passed away of natural causes.

“He’d been unconscious for a couple of days, but he was comfortable and it was very peaceful,” she stated. “I was able to be with him very close to the end [and] able to put my ear to his heart and sing him songs.”

Bain died in his hometown of Livermore, Calif., on Monday.

Besides his daughter, He is survived by daughter, a twin brother, Bonar Bain, and three sons. May he rest in peace.
