Evelyn Lozada Not Returning To ‘Basketball Wives’?!

Evelyn Lozada may not be returning to the fifth season of VH1’s ‘Basketball Wives’. Isn’t this a shocking turn of events? Well, not really.

After four seasons on the hit reality show, Evelyn and her fiance and NFL player Chad Ochocinco have garnered their own reality spin-off, ‘Ev & Ocho’.

The news could be coming at a bad time however. Rumors producer Shaunie O’Neal have nixed cast mates Jennifer Williams, Kesha Nichols and Royce Reed from the show have surfaced recently. Ev, however, couldn’t confirm or deny the reports.

“You know, I honestly don’t know because we don’t know what the cast is going to look like,” Evelyn told radio host Egypt Sherrod in a recent interview. “Negotiations start I think August, September,” she added.

On the rumors she says, “That wasn’t really confirmed just yet. You know I heard the same thing. After a while, your storyline starts becoming repetitive. People get bored. I open up all aspects of my life so you see me happy, sad, you know. You see everything about me, but certain cast members don’t open up like that, or can’t due to legal reasons.”

As for the state of her friendship with ex-BFF Ev says, “Me and Jennifer, we are cordial. I will just make a long story short. After the reunion, we had a brief conversation via email. I told her that that moment on the reunion show was real for me. I didn’t want her to think that I was just doing something for reality TV or just to have a moment. You know there’s a lot going on, legal; things become sticky, and you kind of have to just take things one day at a time. So I wish her the best.”

As for what we can look forward to on Ev and Ocho’s new show? The couple will detail the beginning of their romance leading up to their wedding. And although we might have missed just how Chad proposed, Ev says, we really didn’t miss anything.

“It’s not romantic,” she said. “[He] never did the one knee … I was with somebody for 10 years, was engaged twice in that relationship,” she explained. “I had all that.”

Evelyn and Chad are expected to walk down the aisle over the July 4th weekend. But what we all want to know, did she eventually invite Jennifer after their reconciliation? Guess we shall see.

‘Ev & Ocho’ is expected to premiere sometime this fall.
