In a Behind The Music episode to air tonight, August 24, Fantasia Barrino, 26 speaks on her suicide attempt two weeks ago.
The singer felt she had no fight left after allegations surfaced that she carried on an affair with a married man, Antwaun Cook.
“I knew exactly what I was doing,” Barrino says in an interview for VH1’s Behind the Music. “You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”
“I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly over and over and over again, dealing with my family, dealing with my father, dealing with men and their bulls**t,” she explains. “My head was hurting me, and I was over it.”
Earlier this month, Paula Cook, the wife of Antwaun Cook and who has filed for divorce, sued Barrino accusing her of knowlingly involving herself with a married man and reported there was even a sex tape to prove it.
Days later, the American Idol winner downed a bottle of Aspirin and a sleep aid causing her to spend two days in the hospital. Luckily her attempt was not life threatening.
The episode airs tonight on VH1 at 9pm eastern.
