Gucci Mane has a brief name change recently. Early Monday morning, March 4th, Gucci made the announcement he would officially be called ‘Guwop’ as of July.
The Atlanta rapper tweeted, “July 2nd I’m officially changing my rap name to Guwop and retiring the great GucciMane…Thanks Fans, for 8 years as Gucci now it’s Wop turn.”
Unfortunately, many of Gucci’s fans weren’t too happy about the announcement and had some things to say. Here’s what several of Gucci’s fans tweeted.
Gucci then recanted his previous statement and replied back, “I am officially NOT changing my name to Guwop it will officially stay Gucci Mane due to my Fans’ response.. Trap House 3 & Juug House July 2”
Oh okayyy. Seemed like a bad joke to us. What is a ‘Guwop’, anyone know?
We agree fans, that would have been a very bad decision.
