You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. Chelesa Fearce of Charles Drew High School in Georgia proves just that. The seventeen year old became the valedictorian despite being homeless for much of her high school career.

Fearce and her family lived in a number of homeless shelters, hotels and even out of their mother’s car before moving to the apartment, they now reside.

Just how was Fearce able to do this. She says while she lived in homeless shelters she would often use the light from a cell phone to study — achieving a 4.466 GPA.

But it doesn’t end there. Chelesa’s sister Chelsea Fearce has also achieved high academic standards and will graduate as salutatorian of her class at George Washington Carver High School in Atlanta.

And now CrowdItForward — a crowd funding organization to help support do-gooders has decided to help fund the sister’s college expenses.

Check out her story below and how you can make a donation.

Love stories like this. Goes to show when you make up your mind to do something nothing can stop you. Sadly, some kids out there have nice clothes and a home, and can’t even make Cs.

I too love stories like this. It gives me hope. So many young people are not resilient and can’t work through life’s challenges. She’ll go far in life. Proud and happy for her.

Her mother and I attended the same daycare that helps homeless families. She was always about her kids doing well in school and she did not play lol. Very proud when I heard about this.
