Hip-Hop Pioneer Nate Dogg Passes Away At 41

Sad news in the hip-hop community today. Nathaniel Hale better known as his stage name, Nate Dogg, passed away yesterday at the age of 41. The musician was better known for his hooks on popular hip-hop records with artists such as Snoop Snogg, Warren G, Dr. Dre, Fabolous, and Eminem just to name a few.

Nate Dogg was born in Long Beach, California in 1969 and discovered his musical ability as a young child singing in the New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach and Clarksdale, Mississippi where his father (Daniel Lee Hale) was pastor. He was discovered in 1991 after recording a demo as a member of rap trio 213, along with Snoop Dogg and Warren G. The demo was later heard by Dr. Dre and as they say the rest is history. In 1992 the singer made his debut on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic .

Plague with two strokes in recent years, first in 2007 and another in 2008, the singer struggled throughout his recovery process undergoing physical therapy in hopes of regaining total physical and mental health.

In a statement released by Hale’s family the musician passed away late last night. The cause of death is still unknown at this time.
