The Houston family has finally released an official statement 48 hours after the shocking news that Bobbi Kristina, the only child daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home over the weekend.
On Monday the family shared the below message via the official Facebook page of the legendary singer. The statement read,
“STATEMENT FROM THE HOUSTON FAMILY:
Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
New reports also suggest that Bobbi Kristina is showing signs of improvement after being placed in a medically induced coma to eliminate brain swelling (Read HERE).
Initial reports suggested there was a possibility the 21 year old would be declared brain dead and taken off life support.
At the time of the news, dad Bobby Brown also issued a statement regarding his daughter’s condition.
“Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time,” said Bobby in his statement.
It’s also been reported that Bobbi Kristina’s estranged husband, Nick Gordon, has been banned from seeing her at the request of the Houston family.
While new reports emerge about the Bobbi Kris’ condition, it is believed that she attempted suicide following a big blow out with her husband and spout with depression. The news comes nearly three years since her mother’s passing under similar circumstances.
The late Houston’s body was found submerged in a bathtub in her Los Angeles hotel room. She passed away at the age of 48 on January 11, 2012.
