Free agent, Jason Collins, has come out as the first player in the NBA as an openly gay black man.
In an open letter, Collins writes, “I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation. But the lockout wreaked havoc on my habits and forced me to confront who I really am and what I really want. With the season delayed, I trained and worked out. But I lacked the distraction that basketball had always provided.

Good for him and its about time someone came out.
Happy for him. Secrets will kill you. He’s smart. The first few that come out are going to benefit from it financially.
Good for him, hard to live with a secret….
Good for him for not being afraid to speak out…
