Over the weekend, Jay Z brought out his superstar wife Beyonce at The Global Citizens festival in Central Park. The couple performed several songs and it was quite evident that the couple were having a ball while doing so. The event was held on Saturday, September 27, 3014, with the incentive of ending extreme poverty by 2030. The Global Citizens committee urges citizens to encourage world leaders to address issues of hunger, vaccines, education and sanitation.
The charitable event brought out 60,000 New Yorkers and many high-profile individuals, celebrities and artists who also graced the stage during the festival. Performers included No Doubt, The Roots, Sting and Alicia Keys. The event also coincided with the United Nations General Assembly, which, was also held in NYC over the weekend. Prime Ministers and royalty from all over the world were in attendance.
Although the concert was free, the 60,000 attendees could only obtain tickets by pledging to do good deeds on the Global Citizens website. The 3rd annual event was broadcasted courtesy MSNBC and NBC and set a record for the largest digital charitable event.
As for Bey and Jay, the couple were also spotted hanging out with fellow musical duo Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beats.
Here are a couple more images of the pair.
