Has Jennifer Hudson called off her wedding to reality TV star turned wrestler David Otunga? Well, not exactly.
“Jennifer started feeling like it just wasn’t right,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “Jennifer and David quietly called off the wedding a few months ago and she even returned her ring to him.”
This isn’t the first time rumors have surfaced that the couple have called off their nuptials. It was just earlier this year reports suggested the relationship had come to a demise. Jennifer cleared up those rumors in a later interview, however, revealing the couple still planned to marry and even had a wedding date in mind.
But, it seems, the reports had been true.
A close source has now revealed that the recent murder trial and conviction of William Balfour had caused Jennifer much stress. She was present in the Chicago courtroom for several weeks while the man responsible for the death of her mother, brother and nephew went to trial. The source reveals, “She was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended.”
“So many bad things have happened since they got engaged in 2008 that have prevented them from finally getting married, and she was worried that she was just trying too hard to make something happen that wasn’t meant to be,” the source added.
In the past, Jennifer has credited David with saving her life. The week her relatives were murdered, it was David who requested that Jennifer come visit him instead of going to see her family in Chicago. Had she been in Chicago, it’s possible she may have met the same fate.
“After things settled down, she realized that he was her rock and that she wanted to spend her life with him,” said the source, who confirmed that the two are back to planning their nuptials.
The couple, together since 2008, also have a four year old son together, David Jr.
