Jesse L. Martin Replaces Lenny Kravitz In Marvin Gaye Biopic

1

Lenny_Kravitz_Marvin_Gaye_Jesse_L_Martin_Biopic_Cotten_KandiBad news for Lenny Kravitz. He will no longer be the leading man in the upcoming Marvin Gaye biopic, ‘Sexual Healing’. Actor Jesse L. Martin will now replace him.

Martin, who had been the first choice, was overlooked when the role went to Kravitz. Marvin’s son Marvin Gaye III, Kravitz childhood friend, surprisingly had  immediate objections to Kravitz taking the role and asked he be dropped.

Looks like Marvin Gaye III got his wish. It was recently announced that Martin will, in fact, play the legendary singer.

Although we love Lenny Kravitz, thankfully they got it right! Lenny is a talented musician but Jesse is a great actor. And, a slight resemblance to the late Marvin Gaye doesn’t hurt all that much now does it?

Did they get it right? Should Martin get the role or should they have kept Kravtiz?
