Kanye-Interrupts-Beck-Grammy-Speech

After skipping out on the Grammy Awards since his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift‘s 2009 win and acceptance speech for Record of the Year over Beyonce, Kanye nearly did much of the same this year after Beck won the award for Album of the Year.

While Beck approach the stage to accept his award, Kanye quickly followed suit, in what appeared to be an attempt to dispute the win, but quickly thought again and went back to his seat.

The entire exchanged actually seemed to be a joke and rather harmless. In fact, Beck even probed West to come back to the stage before continuing on with his speech.

But not so fast. It seems, Kanye wasn’t kidding at all. He was just smart enough, this time, to not go through with the disruption.

Here’s what the rapper had to say in his post interview with E!

“If they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t going to play with them no more… ‘Flawless,’ Beyonce’s video, and Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce,” West stated. “And, at this point, we tired of it. Because what happens is that when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face.”

And what Beyonce’s response? Check out her, and hubby Jay’z, funny reaction below.

So what did Beck have to say about it all? We think, the musician handled things quite well. He shared his own thoughts with US Weekly in a post Grammy interview.

“I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody,” the 44-year-old Grammy winner said (via Us Weekly) of Kanye‘s on stage storm. “How many great records has he put out in the last five years right?”

When asked what he thought about Kanye saying Beyonce should have won, Beck replied, “Absolutely. I thought she was going to win. Come on, she’s Beyonce!”

“You can’t please everybody, man. I still love him and think he’s genius. I aspire to do what he does,” Beck added. – Just Jared
