Madonna may want to be more careful about how much she shares online when it pertains to her children.
The 55 year-old material girl caused controversy when she shared an Instagram photo of her 13 year-old son, Rocco Ritchie, posing with friends while holding Vodka bottles.
Upon sharing the photo Madonna adding, “The party has just begun! Bring it! 2014.”
The image was a bit disturbing for a number of fans who expressed that very opinion on the social sharing site. And although the legal drinking age is 21 years old in the United States, it is 16 in Switzerland, where the family had been vacationing.
Following the backlash, the singer took to the social sharing site again, the very next day, to address the controversy.
She shared another photo (above) of her son and a friend again writing, “No one was drinking we were just having fun! Calm down and get a sense of humor! Don’t start the year off with judgement!”
Unfortunately, for some the damage was already done. Fans continued to express their disapproval and the concern over what message they think the imagery sends.
