Singer Mary J Blige and her family is going through a very tough time tonight. Mary’s dad is currently in critical condition after being stabbed by an ex-girlfriend.
Thomas Blige, 63, sustained three stab wounds, including one to the neck, during a domestic dispute in an apartment in Battle Creek, MI.
The Battle Creek police have since arrested the woman and has charged her of assault with the intent to murder.
Police were called to the Arbors of Battle Creek apartment complex at approximately 6:58 a.m., Thursday morning. Upon arriving, officers found blood in the snow near the door’s entrance and found Blige as well as a knife they believe was used in the attack.
Blige was then taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich., where he underwent surgery.
Officers later found Blige’s ex-girlfriend (name unreleased), 50, in her nearby apartment wearing bloody clothing. She was arrested and taken to the Calhoun County jail and is expected to be arraigned on Friday in the Calhoun County District Court.
