Michelle Duggar has suffered a miscarriage in her 2nd trimester. The mom of 19 and husband Jim Bob came under scrutiny recently when they revealed they were pregnant again, following the difficulty they faced with their last child, baby Josie, back in 2009.
In a routine check up, Thursday, to find out the sex of their 20th child, the Duggar’s learned they had had a miscarriage when doctor’s weren’t able to find the baby’s heartbeat.
“After the appointment, we came back home and told the children,” says Michelle, 45.
“We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad disappointment.”
She went on to say that the family will continue with their decision to select a name after they know if the baby was a boy or girl, and then plan to have a funeral service.
“I feel like my heart broke telling my children,” says Michelle. “They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult. The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him.”
This is actually the second miscarriage for the couple. In her second pregnancy, years ago, Michelle miscarried while taking oral contraceptives and was the very reason she and Jim decided to leave the number of children they were to have up to God.
Although this is nothing to celebrate, I believe this is a sign she should consider getting her tubes tide. Please listen to your body and stop having more children. Best wishes.
